Nikka has come a long way since it was first founded in Hokkaido, by Masataka Taketsuru, the “Father of Japanese Whisky.” Today, Nikka is one of the most recognizable alcoholic beverage companies in Japan with its products available in every part of the country. This particular bottle from Nikka is a Miyagikyo Apple brandy. It is a limited edition bottle and was released to commemorate the 100th Wedding Anniversary of Masataka Taketsuru and Rita Taketsuru.
One of Nikka’s signature products to showcase our way of blending and perfecting flavors. Gentle malt flavor, fruitiness and extremely well-balanced taste make it a perfect entry point into the world of Nikka.
In collaboration with Plantation Rum comes a marriage of Teeling Small Batch Whiskey with Caribbean Rum Casks. The result is a limited edition whiskey which is described as having a 'remarkable depth of flavour; accented by smoky notes and aromas of tropical fruit, ripe pineapple and banana, citrus peel and a touch of clove'. This was matured separately in ex-bourbon barrels for up to six years before spending a further 12 months in Plantation Rum casks. A limited release of 12,500 bottles.
Nikka was the life’s work of Masataka Taketsuru, the “Father of Japanese Whisky”. Its products are rightly celebrated worldwide for their quality, and it is not an exaggeration to say that you can feel the ingenuity of Masataka in Nikka whisky. This exciting Nikka Tailored whisky is a brand new release from Nikka set to replace the discontinued Nikka 12 Year Old. Made up from whisky from the Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries, this one brings vanilla cookies, caramel, coffey grain, cocoa and dried fruit in what already appears to be a delicious and worthy replacement for the much-loved 12 Year Old.
